SBTi verification for Diligent Corporation
Carbon reduction planning and successful SBTi validation for a leading SaaS company.
Diligent Corporation (‘Diligent’) are industry leaders in centralised governance, risk and compliance (GRC) SaaS platforms. They offer one platform for every stage of a client’s GRC journey. All powered by AI.
Diligent initially approached Rawstone Consulting for support with preparing for and achieving Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) verification of their carbon targets, leveraging the GHG inventory collected through Diligent’s own software solution. Subsequently Rawstone has continued to work with Diligent for three years.
Key highlights from Rawstone’s carbon support include:
GHG inventory: Finalisations of the company’s scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG inventory and ensuring correct system entry of all relevant raw data.
Carbon reduction planning: Analysis of the company’s key emission sources, their potential growth, and reduction opportunities, in order to produce a carbon reduction plan and target recommendations.
SBTi validation: Preparation and submission of the company’s SBTi submission and support through the audit process, resulting in successful validation of the company’s near-term and long-term goals.
GHG data improvement: Evolution of data quality over time to calculate emissions at a country-specific level.
Public reporting: Production of Diligent’s GHG inventory outputs in a format to align with the company’s existing public reporting: Diligent social impact and sustainability report.
We interviewed 3 companies in total before selecting Rawstone and felt this agency provided the level of attention and high degree of partnership we needed for various projects. Personally, as a one person department, I was looking for a reliable thought partner and dedicated sustainability professionals to work with to achieve Diligent's ESG-related goals. I wanted to work with a smaller firm so I didn't get lost in the shuffle of a larger consulting agency.
We've presented Rawstone's findings to a number of different stakeholders over the last two years and have always had a high degree of fidelity in their services. Feedback has always been positive.
