GRI-referenced Sustainability Report

National Sustainability Reports for one of the top four UK supermarkets.

Aldi is Britain’s fourth-largest supermarket with more than 1,050 stores and over 45,000 colleagues. The supermarket believes in making every day amazing and delivering the best possible value for millions of families throughout the UK and Ireland.

In early 2025, Aldi appointed Rawstone Consulting, along with our design partners JMG Studio, to produce its 2024 national Sustainability Reports for both the UK and Ireland. As a large and well-known business, it was essential that the project was managed to on-time delivery and that both reports were finished to the highest of standards.

Key highlights from the project include:

  • Comprehensive project management. Every stage of the project was planned in detail to ensure that all content and stakeholder reviews could be completed ahead of the target publication date. The project plan was kept up to date and collectively reviewed each week, and all project stage deliverables as well as the final reports were delivered on time.

  • Design and copy expertise. Aldi has a distinctive brand and our design partners, JMG Studio worked hard to deliver design concepts and copy that truly reflect the Aldi brand guidelines and brings the ethos and sentiment of the reports to life. The reports include navigational aids, a unique hand-drawn store graphic and simple but bold cover and divider pages that embody the title of ‘Clear Actions. Real Impact.’.

  • Technical content. We provided technical guidance on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) content, producing the GRI tables, checking data for accuracy and shaping the language used to convey technical aspects of ESG reporting.

Our sustainability report process was streamlined thanks to Rawstones' excellent project management. Additionally, JMG’s creative design work truly brought our achievements to life within the report, making it both informative and visually engaging. We highly appreciate their professionalism and expertise.
