Running the Abingdon Marathon for The Pink Place cancer charity, in memory of our friend and colleague, Paula Sullivan

On 19th October 2025, our MD, Caroline Johnstone, will be running the Abingdon Marathon to raise money for The Pink Place, a cancer charity based in Basingstoke who offer wellbeing support to women with cancer.

Here are a few words from Caroline, who is running in memory of our dear friend and colleague, Paula.

"The very last time I spoke to Paula, in her last couple of weeks, she was not just singing the praises of The Pink Place but she was trying to work out how she could support them to have an even bigger impact. And that was so typical of Paula - she was always thinking of others and challenging herself, and others, to do more.

She really valued the support network and activities that The Pink Place had provided during her cancer journey, and was passionate about others in need being able to access the service.

I hope to support her with this endeavour by running the Abingdon Marathon in October. I've been a runner for many years but I am a short distance runner (5-6 miles is my bag) so this has required a huge step-up in my training. With roughly four weeks to go I accomplished my longest training run of 22 miles and I honestly don't know where I'll manage another 4 miles from but I know that I will not give up, because I know Paula would never give up. She was an incredibly determined, passionate and multi-talented individual and I shall be thinking about her zest for life on the run.

Aside from being a personal inspiration to me, many of you will know that Paula was also a hugely valued work colleague and was integral to the growth of Rawstone Consulting. For that reason, I'm pleased to say that Rawstone will be matching all donations raised".
